Jaifaith

I know this has been a long time coming, but here it is. Those of you who look at this blog, if there is anyone, probably already know about Jaifaith, but we thought we needed to introduce him to our blog anyways. For anyone that doesn't know, Jaifaith is a little boy that Stan and I have been taking care of for the past 3 1/2 months while his mom has been sick. Long story short, his mom is a diabetic and when she got pregnant with him, her kidneys shut down on her and ever since then she has had to be on dialysis. She is currently in need of a kidney and pancreas transplant, however, at this point she is not on the donor list and we're not sure if she is even eligible. Her health fluctuates from day to day, and she is just not strong enough to care for this rambunctious little boy at this point. Jaifaith is now almost 14 months old, however he was born at 27 weeks so his adjusted age is 11 months. He is a miracle baby being born at 1 lb 11 oz with no significant health problems, and he has truly been a blessing in mine and Stan's life. He is a vibrant, smart and active little boy whom we have come to love as our own child. We are not sure what the future holds at this point, we just take everything day to day and trust in God to lead us and work out the details. After all, Jaifaith's name does mean victory in faith in some translations, and this is no coincidence! God has had his hand is this the whole time, and we know he will take care of this special little boy who has already touched so many lives. Here are some more pictures of the little guy!

If anybody still looks at this . . .

Yes, I am still alive! I told you in the beginning that the posts would probably be few and far between. I didn't exactly mean 8 months in between posts, but it appears that's the way things have worked out. I've been busy trying to adjust to my new schedule since I quit my job back in Feb. I now do contract work for a home health therapy company and do prn (as needed) work at other rehab facilities around town. I like it for the most part because it's pretty much like I work for myself, and I can take time off any time I like. Other than that, things have pretty much been run of the mill. Stan and I have taken a couple of vacations. We went to Key West at the end of Feb to join up with the Roberson RV Adventure then at the end of March we went to Cancun Mexico for a surprise birthday celebration for my father-in-law's 60th birthday. Now we're just preparing for summer; our favorite time of the year here a the beach. We welcome visitors! Here are a few pictures from our Mexican vacation. . .

Spring Break '08

All Inclusive! Look at the excitement
in Stan's eyes when he realizes all this
liquor is INCLUDED!

If you can't see the real thing, I definitely recommend going to see the
Mexican Michael Jackson. I thought I was watching the real thing and I'm
pretty sure our nephews Matty and Mason were convinced that this was the real MJ. Awesome show!!

Matty and Mason enjoying the show.

Hopefully the next post will be more timely!

HOT-LANTA

Alright so I told you the entries would be few and far between, but just so you know what we've been doing lately besides working our butts off here's another stimulating entry. . . In July Stan and I took a 3 day weekend to go to Atlanta to visit his aunt and uncle. They were excellent hosts and I don't think we could've asked for better tour guides. We ate at the best restaurants ( Two Urban Licks and The Flying Biscuit in case you were wondering), shopped at the best malls, went to the Aquarium, and went to a Braves baseball game and sat in the 3rd row in between home plate and the Braves batter box. Needless to say we had a great time. I loved Atlanta, but hated the traffic!!! I don't know how the Good Shepherds deal with that everyday. We tried to get up with Robert and Annie, but Stan's aunt and uncle kept us so busy it just didn't work out. Did I mention that we saw P. Diddy's house right down the street from their house. The picture above is Stan and I on the Chatahoochee River behind their house.

Stan and I up at the 755 club after dining
at the buffet while watching the Braves
practice.

Jess, this one's for you

Last but not least. . . Diddy's house. He wasn't home or else we would've gone over to hang out:)

As requested, pictures of Nicky Noodle with special guest appearances. Sorry Rylie, but Nick found your blue binky before we did and now he's hooked and won't give it back. We'll get you back next time you come back to the beach. I'm sure Nick will give you one of his toys!

OK OK

Okay, so i know you guys thought I would never do this, but we've had a rainy weekend in Wilmington, so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and give this blogging thing a shot. I can't promise any wonderful pieces of work like my expert blogger friends and I can almost guarantee that the posts will be few and far between, but I'll do my best. Maybe once I get the hang of this I will get faster, but right now this blogging stuff takes forever! SO, THIS ONE'S FOR MY GIRLS! (Jess, I tried to get a picture with you in it but I'll have to get one off my other computer.)
